Prior to receiving the sacrament of Baptism, the parents and godparents of the child to be baptized or the person requesting the sacrament if an adult, must attend a one-hour preparation class. The purpose of this class is to insure a proper understanding of the sacrament of Baptism, the baptismal rite itself, the effects of the sacramental graces received, and the obligations of the parents and godparents to the child. If you would like to schedule a baptism, please contact the Church office at least one month before the requested date of the ceremony.
RCIA is a journey of faith through which adults who are interested in joining the Catholic Church prepare to become full, participating members of the Catholic Church. Participants, known as catechumens or candidates go through a process of studying the Gospel, nurturing their relationship with God, becoming familiar with the Catholic teachings and practices, professing their faith in Jesus and the Church, and receiving the sacraments. Those interested in RCIA should contact either Deacon Jim Walter or the Church Office for additional details.
